PATENT FILED FOR MRI/fMRI APPLICATION
A patent on an application for real-time auto shimming with
a single RF pulse was filed on May 12, 2004 in the name of
principal inventors Vinai Roopschansignh, Andrzej Jesmanowicz,
and James S. Hyde. The application is based on the work of
Roopschansignh, et. al. and is titled "System for Concurrent
MRI Imaging and Magnetic Field Homogeneity Measurement".
Molecular Specialties initiated the patent on the part of
the inventors. This action was the first step in Molecular
Specialties establishing an eventual product position in MRI/fMRI.
As of April 12, 2006 the patent is still pending with the
US Patent Office due to the backlog in this sector of art.
